9th day!!

Hey guys we just went to Tianjin yesterday!!.Had lots of fun there!!It was just like any other morning except that we had to gather by 645 as the bus ride was around 3 hrs! We went to the Tianjin Eco city which will be built to be a enviromentally friendly and resource conserving city. Construction has already begun on the 4km2 piece of land which is the start up area.

The entire project is set to be completed in the next 10 to 15 years whereby the whole city will be 30 square kilometres and will be able to support a population of up to 350000 people.

Personally feel that the city will be a huge break through if it is sucessful as it will mean that other countries can follow suit in changing their cities into a socially harmonious and enviromentally friendly city.

However as a foreign student, I do not quite understand why the Singapore government chose to partner with china and build the eco city and not build one in Singapore instead? Maybe its because of the lack of land space in Singapore and thus not willing to risk the development of the Eco-City as the Singapore government is not sure whether it will be sucessful.

The Eco city is a much needed solution to save the world from depleting resources.
